    This tutorial is mainly for DarkRP members who want to upload their maps they have created to add into their FastDL Collection on the GMod Workshop.

    You will need a few things ready before starting this process:
    • Access to your CMD (Command Prompt - CMD.exe)
    • Steam Account
    • Map you want to upload
    • Icon you want to use as your display image (512 by 512)
    • Access to create files in your C:\ Drive (Alternatively - You can use the Desktop)
    • Access to create .json files in your C:\ Drive (for the command prompt)
    Ok so lets get started.

    No steps - Just read/follow.
    First, Go to your C:\ Drive and create a new file called gmodupload with in this folder you need to create a new folder called "maps" this is were you should DRAG your maps .BSP file into, then backing out into your gmodupload folder again create a new .txt document. In this document copy/paste the code below.
    Edit the "title" piece into what ever you want.
    Leave the "type" alone unless you know what you are doing.
    Code (Text):
    {
    "title" : "ph_Night of the Living Dead",
    "type" : "map",
    "ignore" :
    [
    "*.psd",
    "*.vcpro",
    "*.svn"
    ]
    }
    Ok now click SAVE AS
    In the bottom area of were you would name your document there should be a "File Type", Change this to "All Files" and name it as Addon.json, Save and now we don't need to mess with this anymore.

    (Windows 7) Go to your search bar in your START menu and search CMD click the CMD.exe file and open it up.

    (Windows XP) Go to your Start Menu, Click "Search" and then search CMD, and find the CMD.exe file and open it up.

    ((NOTICE - SOME COMMAND PROMPTS WONT ALLOW YOU TO DIRECTLY GO TO A FILE LOCATION, IF YOU NEED TO GO TO A FILE LOCATION FOLLOW THE STEP BELOW))
    (Hard CMD Prompts) Now go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\bin copy this and keep it in your copy que for a moment as we will need to tell your CMD Prompt to go to this locaiton. To do this type in the CMD prompt exactly this.
    cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\bin"
    Now your command prompt should have this file location displayed with the flashing under score after it.

    (Easy CMD Prompts) Now go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\bin copy the location of which your bin folder is and paste and then follow the steps below.

    Now after doing all this steps of hard work we will finish it off with uploading your map!
    So in your command prompt type in (or copy/paste):
    gmad.exe create -folder "C:\gmodupload" -out "C:\gmodupload\maps\namehere.gma"
    This will now compress your map into a .gma at the location you put above.

    Now, if you have your icon ready and created go ahead and do this command
    gmpublish create -addon "C:\gmodupload\mymap.gma" -icon "C:\gmodupload\ICONNAME.jpg"

    Now that you have uploaded your icon you should be set, Go into your steam profile, Libary -> Garry's Mod -> Browse Workshop -> Click the "Your Workshop Files" under/next to your profile picture.
    Now if you did it all correctly you should have your map uploaded and it should be shown in the workshop area, make sure to publish it IN the workshop page.
    Now close everything and you are set.

    ((This tutorial was made purely for the DarkRP forums and usage by the DarkRP community to allow the experience of custom maps to be expanded.))

    No, there's another error than just it being too big. I can't help because there's no further information from your CMD.
