IS there a way to change this? When someone types /advert it spawns a giant billboard. download.jpg

Advert was never meant to be used for logging RP actions so misuses of the command being sensitive to changes isn't surprising. If you desperately still want to log people's actions like that, it should be done properly. Though it depends on why exactly you still want to do so.

because not every dark rp server is supper serous. and although not alot of people see it in chat. It is a nice way for people and staff for the user to solve their own problem. ie looking in console seeing if someone adverted mug, raid, ect.

and instead if it be removed completely or replace he could of simply made a new command or add a command for the old system

So you want it purely as a logging system? How about commands that just logs it so that it is not announced to the world but admins can see it in their console if need be?

but a part of the point is to let everyone see it lol. and not even a logging system but also a notification system. The whole point and reason alot of people stop using advert for actions instead of advertisement was to make it easier for users to solve there own problem.

im in the work with a couple coders to add a advert system but using a [action] or a ICC chat(in character chat) if it works I'll post in on this site and post a link to most advert problem post

If something relies on the misuse of a feature, then that's a sign of bad design.

When in a situation like that (this doesn't just apply to DarkRP), you should momentarily forget about the existing solution and at least try up with a new, better solution. It's only if there is no possible better solution that you should go back to the existing one. If you cannot clearly reason why there cannot be any better solution, then you do not have the best solution. Retaining the status quo without any consideration is only ignoring the problem.

When specifically does this apply? In situations involving the person performing the RP action (eg. raider/mugger) versus the victim of that action, both parties will be well aware of the situation so adverts will not help them.

If you mean regular users taking the role of moderator into their own hands, that's not solving the problem as they have no powers to do so. When one party is lying, a peaceful resolution will only be reached if the parties involved forgive each other. This means moderator input would still be required regardless of what other users can find out through their detective work.

Additionally, adverts should not be taken as a definitive proof as players can very well lie about or choose to not announce their RP actions. You should take care as a system built to require adverts to always be truthful can collapse.

    What's wrong with /cr and /911?

An interesting point, but what scenarios do you have in mind on when this is required? People can /pm others and mayors still can make global broadcasts. There are also group chats.
